Filters
Filters are a variety of operations that allow users to manipulate the colors and materials of their voxel models. These filters enable creative control over the visual appearance of voxel grids, making it easy to achieve the desired aesthetic.
Note
Foxel utilizes an indexed color system, which means that colors are represented by a limited palette of predefined colors. When applying color filters, the resulting colors are calculated and then matched to the closest available color in the active palette. This ensures that the final appearance remains consistent with the selected color options, while also allowing for creative adjustments.
Important
If there are selected voxels in the active voxel grid, any filter will only apply to these selected voxels. Otherwise all voxels from all selected Voxel Layers will be affected.
Available Filters
| Filter | Description |
|---|---|
| Adjust Hue/Saturation | Modify the hue, saturation, and lightness of the voxel colors. |
| Adjust Brightness/Contrast | Change the overall brightness and contrast of the voxel grid. |
| Color Overlay | Blend the voxel colors with a selected color for unique visual effects. |
| Desaturate | Reduce the intensity of colors, creating a more muted appearance. |
| Invert Colors | Reverse the colors in the voxel grid to their complementary counterparts. |
| Reduce Colors | Remap the colors in the voxel grid to a target color count. |
| Replace Color | Replace target colors in the voxel grid with a replacement color. |
| Replace Material | Replace target materials in the voxel grid with a replacement material. |
