Rendering GIF Animations
Rendering GIF animations in Foxel allows you to create animated images that can be easily shared and displayed. Follow the steps below to set up your scene and render a GIF animation.
Important Note
When rendering GIF animations, keep in mind that GIFs use a limited color palette. This may reduce the overall render quality depending on your render settings and the complexity of your scene. To achieve the best results, consider simplifying your color choices and optimizing your scene for GIF rendering.
Steps to Render a GIF Animation
Set Up Your Scene
Ensure your scene has the necessary lights and camera angles. Adjust the lighting to enhance the visual quality of your animation.Activate the Camera
Navigate to the View Options Bar and select the camera you wish to use for rendering from the Camera dropdown.Select Frame Range via Timeline
Use the Timeline to set the playback range for the frames you want to include in the GIF animation.Initiate Rendering
Go to the menu and select Render > Render GIF Animation. A dialog will appear prompting you to enter various parameters for the render.Start the Render
After filling in all necessary parameters, click the OK button to begin the rendering process. Your GIF animation will be rendered and saved to the specified output folder.
Dialog Parameters

- Camera: Initialized with the active camera you selected.
- Range: Initialized with the selected playback range from the Timeline.
- Output Folder: Specify the folder where the rendered GIF will be saved.
- Filename Prefix: This will be initialized with the name of the active asset.
- Render with MagicaVoxel (Experimental): Check this option to use MagicaVoxel for rendering, noting that this feature is experimental.
