Rendering GIF Animations โ€‹

Foxel can render animations directly as GIF files.

This is useful for quick previews, sharing short animations, or exporting simple motion clips without using a separate video tool.

INFO

GIF files use a limited color palette, so image quality may be lower than in regular image renders.

Rendering a GIF Animation โ€‹

To render a GIF animation:

  1. Set up your scene and choose the camera you want to render.
  2. Set the playback range in the Timeline.
  3. Select Render > Render GIF Animation.
  4. Adjust the settings in the dialog.
  5. Start the render.

Foxel renders the selected frame range and saves it as a GIF file.

Render Dialog โ€‹

The GIF render dialog includes the following settings:

  • Camera
    The camera used for rendering.

  • Range
The playback range that will be rendered.

  • Output Folder
The folder where the GIF file will be saved.

  • Filename Prefix
The name used for the output file. By default, this is initialized from the name of the open asset.

  • Render with MagicaVoxel (Experimental)
Enables rendering through MagicaVoxel instead of Foxel's built-in renderer. For more information, see Remote Rendering with MagicaVoxel.
