Voxel Tool Rectangle Mode โ€‹

Voxel Tool Rectangle Mode

Rectangle Mode edits a flat rectangular region on the active voxel plane.

How It Works โ€‹

You define two corners of a rectangle, and Foxel applies the active tool to all voxels inside that 2D region.

This mode is useful for:

  • flat walls and panels
  • planar selections
  • broad paint or material passes on one plane

How to Use It โ€‹

  1. Move the cursor over a voxel face.
  2. Click to set the first corner of the rectangle.
  3. Drag to define the opposite corner on the indicated plane.
  4. Release the mouse button to apply the active tool.

Shape Option โ€‹

By default, Rectangle Mode processes the full rectangular area.

You can also choose a different 2D shape in the Toolbar. Available shapes include filled and outline variants of:

  • rectangle
  • ellipse
  • triangle

The active tool is then applied only to the voxels that belong to the selected shape.

Notes โ€‹

  • When you hover over a voxel face, Foxel shows a planar cross that indicates the slice on which the rectangle will be created.
  • Hold Shift while dragging to constrain the rectangle to a square.
  • Hold Alt while dragging to draw from the center instead of from a corner.
  • You can combine Shift and Alt to draw a square from the center.

When to Use It โ€‹

Choose Rectangle Mode when the result should stay planar rather than extend into depth.
