Merging 2D Objects
The Merging feature in Foxel allows you to combine multiple 2D objects into a single entity, simplifying your design and asset management. This functionality is particularly useful for creating cohesive designs and managing complex scenes.
There are three actions available for merging 2D objects: Merge, Merge Down, and Merge All. Each action serves a distinct purpose.
Merge
To merge two or more selected objects into a single object, follow these steps:
- Select the objects you wish to merge.
- Navigate to Object > Merge in the menu.
- The selected objects will be combined into a single entity, resulting in a new object of type Pixel Layer.
Merge Down
To merge a selected object with the object directly below it, follow these steps:
- Select the object you wish to merge down.
- Navigate to Object > Merge Down in the menu.
- The selected object will be combined with the object directly beneath it in the hierarchy, resulting in a new object of type Pixel Layer.
Merge All
To create a single object from all objects in the scene, follow these steps:
- Ensure that all objects you wish to merge are present in the scene.
- Navigate to Object > Merge All in the menu.
- All objects in the scene will be combined into a single entity, resulting in a new object of type Pixel Layer.
Note
If any of the objects being merged have child objects, those child objects will also be merged into the resulting object.
