Pixel Tool Area Mode โ€‹

Pixel Tool Area Mode

Area Mode applies the active tool to a rectangular area dragged on screen.

How It Works โ€‹

Instead of defining the region directly in pixel space, you drag a rectangle in screen space. Foxel then applies the active tool to the matching area.

This is useful when you want to work from the current view rather than from exact grid coordinates.

How to Use It โ€‹

  1. Click and drag a rectangle anywhere on the screen.
  2. Release the mouse button to apply the active tool to the pixels inside that area.

Notes โ€‹

  • Hold Shift while dragging to constrain the area to a square.
  • Hold Alt while dragging to draw from the center instead of from a corner.
  • You can combine Shift and Alt to draw a square from the center.

When to Use It โ€‹

Use Area Mode for fast visual selection and broad view-dependent edits.
