Voxel Scene โ€‹

A Voxel Scene is the main asset type in Foxel. It is used to build, organize, animate, and render voxel-based scenes.

Voxel Scenes are the most flexible asset type in Foxel and will likely be the one you use most often.

What a Voxel Scene Can Contain โ€‹

A Voxel Scene can contain:

  • voxel objects
  • lights
  • cameras
  • references to other assets

This allows you to build anything from a simple static model to a larger animated scene with multiple elements.

Key Features โ€‹

  • Keyframe animation: Voxel Scenes support keyframe-based animation for objects, lights, cameras, and other scene properties.

  • Asset references: A Voxel Scene can reference other asset types, including Voxel Movies, Mesh Assets, and Heightmaps.

  • Lighting and cameras: You can add and edit lights and cameras directly inside the scene.

  • Rendering: Voxel Scenes can be rendered to images or image sequences for preview, presentation, or final output.

Typical Uses โ€‹

Voxel Scenes are commonly used for:

  • building voxel models and environments
  • creating animations
  • setting up lighting and camera shots
  • combining multiple assets into one scene
  • rendering still images or animated sequences

Because Voxel Scenes combine editing, animation, and rendering in a single asset type, they form the core of most Foxel workflows.
