Framing and Isolating Objects

Framing and isolating objects are essential techniques that enhance your ability to visualize and manipulate them effectively within your scene.

Framing

Framing adjusts the camera view to focus on the selected object(s), zooming in or out to ensure they fit comfortably within the viewport. This feature is particularly useful when working with complex scenes where objects may be dispersed across a large area.

How to Frame Objects

  1. Select the object(s) you want to frame.
  2. Go to Object > Frame in the main menu or use the keyboard shortcut (default is F).

If no objects are selected, the framing action will encompass all objects in the scene.

Isolating

Isolating allows you to focus on a specific object or group of objects by temporarily hiding all other elements in the scene. This is especially beneficial in intricate scenes with numerous components, as it minimizes visual clutter and simplifies the editing process for the selected objects.

How to Isolate Objects

  1. Select the object(s) you wish to isolate.
  2. Navigate to Object > Isolate or press the Tab key.

The isolation command will automatically frame the selected objects.

You can also choose to display all other non-isolated objects in your scene by enabling the Display Ghosts option in the View Options Bar. Ghosts

Furthermore, you can adjust the opacity of the ghosted objects using the Advanced View Options Panel.

Note from Dev

Isolate functionality currently does not work in Heightmap assets but will be included in a future release.

Exiting Isolate Mode

To exit isolate mode, simply navigate to Object > Isolate again or press the Tab key.
