Scaling 3D Objects to Fit

The Scale to Fit feature in Foxel allows you to quickly adjust the size of your 3D objects to match a specified target size. This feature is particularly useful for ensuring that objects fit within a designated space or align with other elements in your scene. The scaling operation is controlled via a dialog box, providing a straightforward way to set your desired dimensions.

Using the Scale to Fit Dialog

To access the Scale to Fit feature, follow these steps:

  1. Select the object(s) you wish to scale.
  2. Navigate to Object > Transform > Scale to Fit.
  3. The Scale to Fit dialog box will appear, with the target size automatically set to the size of the bounding box of all selected objects.
  4. Enter the desired target size and click OK to apply the changes.

Scale to Fit Options

In the Scale to Fit dialog box, you will find the following options:

  • Target Size: This field displays the current size of the selected object(s) and allows you to enter a new target size. You can specify the desired dimensions for the object(s) to scale accordingly.
  • Uniform Scaling: Check this option to maintain the object's proportions while scaling. When enabled, the object will scale uniformly across all axes, ensuring that its aspect ratio remains consistent. If unchecked, you can set different target sizes for each axis independently.
