Using the Crop Tool

The Crop Tool trims the active voxel layer to the region you define.

When to Use It

Use the Crop Tool when you want to quickly remove unused space around a model or isolate a smaller working area.

This is different from the Crop transform operation:

• the Crop Tool is part of the interactive editing workflow
• the Crop transform command works from the current selection and menu command

Basic Workflow

1. Activate a voxel grid.
2. Define the region you want to keep.
3. Apply the Crop Tool.

Everything outside the kept region is removed.

Why It Matters

Cropping keeps layers compact, reduces empty space, and makes later editing easier.
