Linear Duplicate
The Linear Duplicate feature enables users to create multiple copies of an object in a straight line. This function is particularly useful for arranging objects in a uniform manner, such as creating rows or columns of items in your voxel scenes.
How to Use Linear Duplicate
To duplicate an object linearly, follow these steps:
Select the object(s) you wish to duplicate.
Navigate to Object > Duplicate > Linear Duplicate in the menu.
A dialog will appear with the following input fields:
🔺 Figure 1: Linear Duplicate Dialog Box- Number of Copies: Input the total number of duplicates you want to create.
- Spacing: Enter the value that determines the distance between each duplicate along the specified axis.
- Direction: Choose the axis (X, Y, or Z) along which the duplicates will be arranged.
- Rotate: Specify the rotation angle to apply to each duplicate relative to the previous one.
- Scale: Define the scale factors for the X, Y, and Z axes to adjust the size of each duplicate, with values calculated as offsets from the previous duplicate.
Click Preview to visualize your settings before applying them, or click OK to generate the duplicates. Each copy will be positioned in a straight line based on your specified parameters.
Note
The pivot point of the object plays a crucial role in how the Scale and Rotate values are applied. See Understanding Pivot Points.
