Pixel Tool Rectangle Mode โ€‹

Pixel Tool Rectangle Mode

Rectangle Mode edits a flat rectangular region in the active pixel grid.

How It Works โ€‹

You define two corners of a rectangle, and Foxel applies the active tool to all pixels inside that 2D region.

This mode is useful for:

  • rectangular selections
  • broad paint or material passes
  • filling or clearing flat areas quickly

How to Use It โ€‹

  1. Click to set the first corner of the rectangle.
  2. Drag to define the opposite corner.
  3. Release the mouse button to apply the active tool.

Shape Option โ€‹

By default, Rectangle Mode processes the full rectangular area.

You can also choose a different 2D shape in the Toolbar. Available shapes include filled and outline variants of:

  • rectangle
  • ellipse
  • triangle

The active tool is then applied only to the pixels that belong to the selected shape.

Notes โ€‹

  • Hold Shift while dragging to constrain the rectangle to a square.
  • Hold Alt while dragging to draw from the center instead of from a corner.
  • You can combine Shift and Alt to draw a square from the center.

When to Use It โ€‹

Choose Rectangle Mode when the result should stay flat and rectangular.
