  • Add New Material: This button creates a new material initialized with the values of the currently active material and adds it to the first empty space in the palette.
  • Delete Selected Materials: Use this button to remove any materials you have selected from the Material Set.
  • Import Materials: You can import a file containing materials into the Material Set.

Selecting Materials

To select a material, simply click on it. You can hold down Ctrl to toggle the selection state of individual materials, or hold down Shift to select all materials between two clicked items.

Editing Material Properties

You can modify the properties of the selected material using the input fields on the right. Adjust the following values as needed:

  • Metallic: Controls the reflectivity of the material.
  • Roughness: Affects the surface texture and light scattering.
  • Emissive: Determines the material's ability to emit light.
  • Alpha: Defines the transparency level of the material.

Each material can also be given a name, which will be displayed as a tooltip when you hover over the material in the Material Selector or Materials Panel.

Important Note

The first material in a Material Set is designated as the default material and cannot be edited within the Material Set Editor. Instead, you can control the properties of the default material for each voxel, pixel, or mesh object using the Inspector.

Exporting and Organizing Materials

You can export selected materials to a file using the "Export Selected" option in the right-click context menu. Additionally, the context menu includes an option to Organize the materials, which rearranges them to eliminate any empty spaces in the Material Set.

The context menu also contains a Clear option, allowing you to remove all materials from the set if needed.

Saving Changes

Once you have made the desired changes to your Material Set, click OK to save your modifications and close the editor.
