Merging 3D Objects

The Merging feature allows you to combine multiple 3D objects into a single entity, specifically for Voxel Objects within a Voxel Scene. This functionality is essential for simplifying your designs and managing complex 3D models.

How to Merge 3D Objects

To merge selected objects, follow these steps:

  1. Select two or more Voxel Objects that you wish to merge. The first object in the selection order is referred to as the active object.
  2. Navigate to Object > Merge in the menu.

Important Notes

  • Voxel Objects Only: This merging functionality only works for Voxel Objects inside a Voxel Scene. Mesh Objects cannot be merged using this feature.
  • Resulting Object: The resulting object from the merge will be a Voxel Layer.
  • Child Objects: If any of the merged objects have child objects, those child objects will also be merged into the final object.
  • Transformation Alignment: If the local transformation space of the objects being merged does not align with the space of the active object, the transformations will be baked into the resulting object. This means that the rotation and scale of the active object will be applied to the voxel grid, rearranging the voxels in such a way that it appears as if the object has been transformed.
