Voxel Tool Rectangle Mode
The Rectangle Mode is a Voxel Tool Mode that edits voxels inside a rectangular area of a voxel grid.
Steps to Use Rectangle Mode
- Activate a voxel grid.
- Select a Voxel Tool.
- Activate the Rectangle Mode.
- (Optional) Select a shape (see below).
- Move the cursor over a face of a solid voxel. This will display visual feedback to help you determine the orientation and location of the voxel face.
- Click the voxel to set the start corner of the rectangle.
- Drag the mouse to move the end corner of the rectangle in the 2D plane indicated by the visual helper.
- Release the mouse button to finalize the rectangle.
Tip
Hold down the Shift key while dragging to constrain the rectangle to a perfect square.
When you hold down the Alt key while dragging, the rectangle will be drawn from the center point instead of from the corner.
You can also combine these keys while dragging to create a square from the center.
Changing the Shape
By default, all voxels that fit into the dragged rectangle will be processed. However, you can also choose from other shapes to process the rectangle, including ellipse, triangle, and outline versions of all base shapes. The active operation is only performed on the voxels that make up the selected shape. For example, if you are using the Erase Tool, you could remove voxels in the shape of a circle.
You can change the shape at any time using the drop-down menu in the Tool Options Bar.
