Project Mini
The Project Mini operation projects a Mini onto a voxel grid from at a right angle, similar to how an overhead projector works. This operation can repeat the pattern, allowing for efficient placement of Minis. Note that the height information stored in the Mini is not utilized during this operation.
For more detailed information about Minis, including how to create and manage them, please refer to the Minis Documentation.
Steps to Project a Mini
- Select a Voxel Layer.
- Navigate to Voxel > Operations > Project Mini.
- Adjust the parameters in the Project Mini dialog.
- Click OK to apply.
Note
If voxels are selected, the Mini will only be projected onto those voxels.
Project Mini Dialog Parameters

| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| Mini | Sets the Mini to be projected. |
| Rotate Mini | Rotates the Mini's pixel grid in 90° increments. |
| Flip Mini Horizontally | Flips the Mini's pixel grid horizontally. |
| Flip Mini Vertically | Flips the Mini's pixel grid vertically. |
| Projection Direction | Specifies the direction from which the Mini is projected. |
| Offset | Sets the offset of the projection relative to the chosen direction. |
| Repeat Horizontally | Toggles the horizontal pattern repeat of the Mini relative to the chosen direction. |
| Repeat Vertically | Toggles the vertical pattern repeat of the Mini relative to the chosen direction. |
| Pierce | Specifies whether the projection is applied to the first voxel it encounters or to all voxels beyond that point. |
| Hide Selection | Toggles highlighting of selected voxels. |
Note
Upon opening the dialog box, the projection direction is automatically configured to align with the closest direction facing the camera.
Note
Any potential empty outer areas are automatically cropped from the Mini, ensuring that repeated Minis are placed without visible spacing, even if the Mini is not completely filled.
