Place Mini
The Place Mini operation generates voxel data from the 2D pixel grid of a Mini (essentially functioning as a mini heightmap) and places that voxel data inside a voxel grid at a specified position. This operation can also create multiple copies of the Mini with defined spacing between them.
For more detailed information about Minis, including how to create and manage them, please refer to the Minis Documentation.
Steps to Place a Mini
- Select a Voxel Layer.
- Navigate to Voxel > Operations > Place Mini.
- Adjust the parameters in the Place Mini dialog.
- Click OK to apply.
Place Mini Dialog Parameters

| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| Position | Sets the position for the first placed Mini. |
| Mini | Sets the Mini to be projected. |
| Mini Orientation | Specifies the orientation of the Mini. |
| Rotate Mini | Rotates the Mini's pixel grid in 90° increments. |
| Flip Mini Horizontally | Flips the Mini's pixel grid horizontally. |
| Flip Mini Vertically | Flips the Mini's pixel grid vertically. |
| Elevate | Toggles whether height information is used to create the voxel representation of the Mini or if it remains flat. |
| Number of Copies | Sets the number of Mini copies along the three axes, with copies added in the positive direction of each axis. |
| Spacing | Defines the spacing between the copies along the three axes. |
Note
Upon opening the dialog box, the Mini orientation is automatically adjusted to align with the closest direction facing the camera, and the position is set to ensure that the first Mini is placed on the voxel grid slice nearest to the camera.
Note
Any potential empty outer areas are automatically cropped from the Mini, ensuring that the default spacing between copies is zero, even if the Mini is not completely filled.
