Activating Pixel Grids

Understanding how to activating pixel grids is crucial for effective pixel modeling.

An object is called active if it is the only selected object or, if more than one object is selected, the first selected object. This object is significant because it is the one displayed in the Inspector, allowing you to view and modify its properties.

The active pixel grid refers specifically to the pixel grid of an active Pixel Layer. It is important to note that only one pixel grid can be active at a time. This means that when you select a different Pixel Layer, the previously active pixel grid will be deactivated, and the new one will become active.

Note

Pixel grids associated with Pixel References cannot be activated. This is because the pixel data from Pixel References is not editable directly. Instead, any changes must be made to the source asset from which the Pixel Reference derives its data.

Steps to Activate Pixel Grids

You can activate a pixel grid in several ways:

  • Click on a Pixel Layer in the Hierarchy.
  • Select a Pixel Layer from the Quick Access menu.
  • Hold down the Ctrl key and click on a pixel of a Pixel Layer in the Scene View.
