Attaching Voxels

The Attach Tool is used to attach voxels to the sides of existing voxels.

Steps to Attach Voxels

  1. Activate a voxel grid.
  2. Select the Attach Tool.
  3. Select the appropriate Voxel Tool Mode.
  4. Use the tool as required by the selected mode.

The behavior of the tool modes differs from that of other Voxel Tools, as described below.

Attaching Voxels in Point Mode

When using the Attach Tool in Point Mode, new voxels will be added on the slice next to the selected side of the first clicked voxel. Hovering over a voxel shows a preview of a single attached voxel and a cross indicating the slice on which the voxel will be added.

Attaching Voxels in Box Mode and Rectangle Mode

When using the Attach Tool in Box Mode or Rectangle Mode, new voxels will be attached to the selected side of the first clicked voxel. Hovering over a voxel shows a preview of a single attached voxel and a cross indicating the plane on which the voxels will be added.

Attaching Voxels in 2D Flood Mode

When using the Attach Tool in 2D Flood Mode, the flooding algorithm first determines the affected voxels and then adds new voxels next to them. Hovering over a voxel shows a preview of a single attached voxel.

Attaching Voxels in 3D Flood Mode

When using the Attach Tool in 3D Flood Mode, the flooding algorithm first determines the affected voxels and then adds new voxels to all empty neighboring voxels. Hovering over a voxel shows a preview of a single attached voxel.

Attaching Voxels in Brush Mode

When using the Attach Tool in Brush Mode, new voxels are added to all voxel sides marked by the brush strokes.
