Working with Texel Tools
The primary function of the Texel Tools is to modify texels. Each Texel Tool employs a specific method for editing, known as the editing operation. For instance, the Select Tool is used to select texels, while the Erase Tool removes existing texels.
The active Texel Tool Mode determines how the editing operation of the Texel Tool is applied.

General Workflow
The general workflow for editing texels with Texel Tools is as follows:
- Activate the texure you wish to edit.
- Select the Texel Tool from the Toolbar that corresponds to the desired editing operation, such as the Select Tool for selecting texels.
- Choose the Tool Mode from the Tool Options Bar that best achieves your intended result. For example, while you can draw a rectangle in Point Mode, using Rectangle Mode would be more effective.
- Utilize the tool as described in the respective Tool Mode documentation.
Shortcuts
All Texel Tools, except for the Select Tool, can select the color and material of texels.
Steps to Select the Color and Material from Texels
- Select a Texel Tool.
- Hold down the
Altkey. - Click on a texel.
This provides a shortcut to avoid constantly switching back and forth to the Eyedropper Tool.
