Export Profiles
Export Profiles let you save reusable export configurations in Foxel. Instead of rebuilding the same export setup again and again, you can store it as a profile and load it into a project's export settings whenever you need it.
Why This Matters
Export settings are often reused. If you frequently export assets in similar ways, rebuilding the same configuration by hand becomes unnecessary repetition.
What Export Profiles are
Export Settings Profiles store reusable asset export configurations.
They are useful for keeping export settings consistent across multiple assets and projects.
Where to find them
Shared Export Settings Profiles can be accessed through:
File > Shared Files > Export Settings Profiles
They are stored in:
Documents\Foxel\Shared\ExportSettings
The file format used is:
.fxlexp
How they fit into export
Each project uses its own current export settings for export operations.
Export Profiles do not need to be activated globally.
Instead, they are loaded into the project’s export settings when needed.
How to create them
In the Export Settings dialog, open the Options menu and use:
- Save Profile to save the current settings
- Load Profile to load an existing profile
- Reset To Default to restore the default export settings
This lets you store different export configurations for different workflows.
Why this is useful
Export Profiles help when you want:
- consistent export settings across projects
- fast switching between export workflows
- fewer repeated setup steps
- reusable production-ready configurations
Important limitation
Export Settings Profiles are managed directly inside Foxel.
They are not imported from or exported to external formats.
What To Remember
- Export Profiles store reusable export settings
- they are accessed through File > Shared Files > Export Settings Profiles
- they are saved as
.fxlexpfiles - each project uses its own export settings
- profiles are loaded into those project settings when needed
- they make it easier to reuse export workflows across projects
